Overlooking the Tarlo River and valley sits a shed. Built in the 1970s this recently renovated shed has been transformed from a run-down shed and workshop used to store hay and cook slop for the pigs to a clean multi-purpose space that keeps the character of its rustic origins.
With a concrete floor, original hardwood posts, large barn doors and deck plus modern comforts including a fireplace, electricity, big screen, theatre system and lighting. We preserve the history of the site by using reclaimed wood and materials from the old on-site piggery including the custom redwood benches made from an old fallen tree.
It's still used to house equipment, tools and machinery from time to time, but you wouldn't know it when it's time to relax and have some fun.
The Shed is also available for overnight lodging for a single night or longer. Kids and pets welcome.

Extensive views to the south across the river and valley are accentuated by glass bi-fold doors that keep out the cold windy weather and open fully on a light sunny day.
The viewing platform / bar area above is the perfect place to chill with floor to ceiling laminated glass windows wrapping around the whole southern end to let in the sun and showcase the stunning view.
Subtle lighting and soft jazz completes the experience. Or party lights with loud rock, thumping dance or your own music if you’d rather.
Included with the hire of the shed is:
- Furnished queen size bed with electric blanket - can be removed for functions.
- Lighting - outside floodlights, indoor fluorescents, mood lighting, down lights, party lights - all on separate circuits so the desired mood can be selected.
- Cooking and tea/coffee facilities - kettle, microwave, urn, air-fryer. No stove or sink.
- Fridge
- Indoor fireplace
- Entertainment facilities - theatre system (with Bluetooth), music library, wall mounted TV/monitor, projector, screen & wireless microphone.
- Dart board, cards, board games & arcade table (Mrs Pacman & Donkey Kong 3 rule!)

- 6 burner BBQ
- Mushroom heaters for winter & fans for summer
- Some seating - benches, lounges, tables & chairs - not enough for a lot of people to sit and eat (see below) but enough for a couple of dozen people to lounge about.
- Potable tank water: Drinking water filled from drum. No tap or sink.
- Pumped river water: Via tap for general washing, cooling, etc. Not for drinking.

You'll also have access to the grounds around The Shed with plenty of room for an outdoor ceremony, a marquee and umbrellas for shade on a sunny day. Extensive views of the river and flats below, Tarlo Hill and valley to the south provide a perfect backdrop for your special day or a quiet, breathtaking night. See visitors map,
This includes The Amphitheatre, a series of garden terraces, walking tracks / paths, seating and picnic areas. The lower picnic area has access to the river, lighting and power, with more benches plus outdoor speakers powered by the theatre system in the shed. Lots of animals, trees, grass and oxygen to relax with. You might even see ducks and the platypus if you are quiet.
Two important aspects we don't have on site:
- Food & drink - We have an arrangement with the local RFS that can cater or you can organise yourself. A variety of options are available as you'd expect including having an RFS catering truck on site for the day and night serving hot food directly to your guests. They can supply and cook all food plus provide more tables, chairs and a marque if you need. We can co-ordinate for you so it’s all delivered to site when you need.
- We can also arrange a local bartender and wait staff from the local Taralga Hotel and other services.
Rain, hail, shine or all three in one day - we live here so we know how to handle the weather for you and your guests.

- Toilets & showers - sorry, we had a simple Development Application in with Goulburn Mulwaree Council that would have addressed this but it was refused (here's an update). Under NSW law we are forbidden from putting in the toilet block or any outdoor toilet including pit, compost or eco toilets. We did hire a portable toilet over the holidays but a number of guests over the holidays could not work out how to use it so we had to remove it (we don't understand either). We can co-ordinate a few options for you for your event or stay if you need more so that toilets and/or showers can be hired, delivered and removed to the site without you worrying.
Neither of these is a big deal. We've had a number of events here now so we know how to orgaise and handle these details without you needing to worry.
