Rough camping away from it all

For some of us nothing beats grabbing a sleeping bag and tent and heading away from the civilized world.

This site is out the back on the other side of the Tarlo River with views across Tarlo Hill and the valley to the south, Tarlo Gap to the north and the higher ranges to the east. It's bush camping on private property not a crowded national park.

There are no amenities and you have to walk a couple of hundred metres from your car but you're not far from help or company if you need. A campfire on Snipers Rest as the sun goes down is worth the effort.

For those who like the wild bush and want a lot of space for a couple of nights. Only $10 per person per night.

Amenities

  • Campfires allowed in designated areas: Gather your own firewood. SUBJECT TO LOCAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND FIRE RESTRICTIONS.
  • Pets allowed on leash please.
  • No toilet; campers must bring camp toilets
  • No potable water: Bring
    your own water or purify from river or stream. River water is available
    (permenant flow) but you MUST FILTER river water and use at your own
    risk.
  • No showers:  Bathe in river or stream. River water does get silty though. Better than nothing on a hot day after a long walk.
  • No garbage: Pack it out
  • Picnic table and seats Multple picnic tables and chairs setup around the property within easy walk of your site.
  • Access to  paths, walking trails, lookouts on the property.`
  • Free guided walks available

Vehicle Details

  • WALK IN ONLY - no motorised vehicles including trailer bikes or quads.
  • 4WD vehilcles may park in picnic area by the river (100m walk, shallow river crossing )
  • 2WD vehicles to park in main parking area at entrance to property (600m walk, shallow river crossing)
  • River crossing may be unavilable in wet weather due to high river lelvels and potential flooding.

  • Check out: Before 12:00 PM
  • On arrival: Meet with Host
  • Cancellation policy: Flexible
  • Minimum nights: 1 night
  • Accepts bookings: 6 months out
  • Park at car park - walk to listing
